Greene Eagle Winery

Trumbull County has a new winery, with the recent addition of Greene Eagle Winery, owned by Keith and Peg Bliss and Dale and Denise Bliss. With loan assistance from the USDA Intermediary Relending Program (IRP) and the Mahoning Valley Industrial Loan Fund through MVEDC, the Bliss’s have constructed an 18th century theme post and beam frame winery located on five acres on Davis Peck Road in Cortland.

Holiday Inn Express

The Holiday Inn Express in Oakwood Village, Cuyahoga County, is under new ownership. Rama Tika Hotels, owned by Raj Chandat and his family, operate 18 other hotels in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. The purchase of the hotel was made possible by a loan from Andover Bank and a Small Business Administration 504 loan, through MVEDC. The hotel employs 22 and expects to add seven additional staff.

Girard Dairy Queen

The Dairy Queen in Girard has undergone reconstruction and expansion at its site on State Street, with the help of Farmers National Bank and a USDA Intermediary Relending Program loan through MVEDC. With the reconstruction, owner Robert Suich added a seating area to expand the interior space. The facility has a sleek, new look, with the feel of a traditional ice cream shop and the addition of drive-thru capabilities.

Hampton Woods Adds Assisted Living

Poland—Kathleen Prasad has expanded capacity at her Hampton Woods Nursing Center, with the addition of an Assisted Living facility. The 52 unit facility was constructed adjacent to the current building and is connected via a walkway. The Assisted Living Center serves individuals who may need assistance with medication and personal care activities, but not the round-the-clock care a nursing facility provides. Warren Business Has Room to Grow

Warren—First Place Bank and an SBA 504 Loan have made it possible for Warren Screw Machine to move into a new facility. Now located in the former Berk Enterprise Building at 3869 Niles Road in Warren, Warren Screw Machine was founded in 1950. For its first thirty-four years, the business offered secondary and general machine shop work. Chardon Manufacturer Adds Additional Building

Chardon—Black Lab Corporation purchased a building across from its existing Chardon manufacturing facility for the purpose of expansion. Black Lab is a toll blender, custom formulator and maker of epoxy flooring blends, polymer concretes and other dry granular blend services. In addition, the company manufactures Prevent Dust Suppressant and the All Kleer product line. The new building will allow for an expansion of product offerings and houses the new corporate offices.
